This is the first post, of what I hope to be many posts, that I'm putting up here over the course of the next year. Most of it will be taken from the manual and some will be just coment or observation.

So what better place to start than Magnetic Reed Contacts, probably the most extensively used detection devices in alarm systems due to their simplicity reliability and resistance to tampering. 

These are probably the most widely used contacts in alarm systems but a bit tricky to fit. So here's a quick guide to help you on your way.

These are heavy-duty contacts for use on roller shutters on shop fronts, garage doors etc. Somtimes called overhead door contacts. As you can imagine fitting these contacts is not an easy task so care should be taken when doing so.
